Personality: The three words that best describe Smooze are, and I quote, “Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegh…”

Muks don’t need to do much to live, just sit in a dirty place and soak in the filth.  As such, Smooze will spend his/her/its days just lying in one spot, absolutely no expression on its face.  It’s not that Smooze is bored or sad, it just doesn’t have any reason to get worked up about anything…or wake up.  Well, there is one reason to get worked up… 

Smooze is in love with Asuka.  The Muk can’t write her sonnets or whisper sweet nothings into her ears, but it makes up for that by single-mindedly chasing her whenever it sees her.  As Asuka’s eyes fill with dread, Smooze’s fill with hearts.  It’s pretty much like watching a slower, quieter and smellier version of a dog freak out over getting treats.

History:
It’s not clear how old Smooze is.  The only thing Asuka can confirm about the Muk’s origins is that it lived in the polluted waters of Springleaf during the time the town was abandoned.  Whether Smooze came from somewhere else to bask in this pollution or if it was created by said pollution is anybody’s guess, but Asuka doesn’t care to guess…

Smooze laid dormant in Springleaf’s ocean until the great Beach Cleaning Initiative, when Asuka accidentally stirred it from its sleep.  Asuka picked the wrong day to wear her good swimsuit, as the Muk instantly fell in love with her 

After a horrifying evening of hugs and smooches, Asuka thought she left Smooze behind on the beach forever…But life wasn’t that kind to Asuka.  A few days later, the Raichu found the Muk at her doorstep and hasn’t been able to evade him/her/it ever since.


Extras:

- Asuka jokingly named Smooze after a cartoon character.  The name stuck after she realized she wouldn’t be evading it anytime soon.

- Asuka tends to travel into the woods, letting Smooze follow her.  When she’s deep enough, she’ll run past Smooze, leaving it behind.  Given how slow Smooze is, it normally takes the blob a few days to catch up and find Asuka again.

- Given that it’s a giant blob of pollution, Smooze enjoys the fact that Asuka’s house is messy, Smooze often eats the trash she leaves behind.  However, Smooze has also killed all the grass around her house.

- When it’s not chasing Asuka, Smooze just lays around, completely indifferent to its surroundings.
